EY alumnus Kelvin Whelan has returned to the firm as a senior manager in the private client and trust team.
Mr Whelan worked for EY in Guernsey for almost a decade, joining as a trainee before progressing through the ranks to manager. He returns to the firm after gaining broad experience within the fiduciary industry as an Associate Director, during which time he developed client relationships and oversaw internal risk management on tax and regulatory issues.
In his new role, Mr Whelan will be specialising in the offshore aspects of UK tax for private clients, as well as focussing on private trust and company structures. His appointment further strengthens EY’s private client and trust team and cross island capabilities.
David White, head of tax for EY in Guernsey, said; “I am delighted to welcome Kelvin back to the firm. In light of the draft Finance Bill announcements and with the deadline for the UK’s 'Requirement to Correct' looming, this is a significant time for fiduciaries and private clients. Kelvin’s understanding and first-hand experience within the fiduciary industry will bring invaluable insights to help our clients navigate their paths through these changes.”
