Recruitment consultants at AP Group in Guernsey and Jersey offices have successfully completed a recognised industry GDPR manager level training course.

The course which has been customised specifically for the GDPR laws in the Channel Islands was compiled for local companies by a Jersey training provider.

Each consultant achieved 100% pass rate and received a certificate of achievement in recognition of successfully completing the course.

The exam, which is similar to a Certificate in Personnel Development course covered specific areas related to data protection and personal data. They also covered training regarding what special category data relates to and 7 general data protection principles. AP Group’s consultants also covered data subject rights and the important aspects of consent, breaches and fines in GDPR laws.

CEO for AP Group, Gina Le Prevost said: "Congratulations to the staff on achieving 100% success rates. The online course can be accessed over the next 12 months so if anyone of our consultants wants to refresh their learning they can at any time.  We are the first recruitment agency in the Channel Islands to have recognised the importance of on the job GDPR training and undertaken professional study relating to the importance of data protection rules and regulations in the islands.  We felt it very important to ensure we continue to keep on top of our game.

"Being professionally qualified in recruitment especially with GDPR training and qualifications, should be compulsory to study GDPR in the recruitment industry as it is such an important aspect of our jobs.  We want our candidates and clients to be assured of our professionalism and current knowledge, so they can rely on our expertise.  Our industry is becoming more and more compliant with data management procedures.  Recruitment agencies should be particularly conscious of the importance of data protection as our industry is so very very confidential."
