The Sunday Times' Chief Political Correspondent will be the keynote speaker at this year's Mourant Trusts Forum.

Tim Shipman, pictured top, will be in Guernsey for the event on Thursday after speaking at the Jersey event tomorrow.

Mr Shipman has reported from Westminster since 2001. He has covered six general elections, three referendums, three wars and countless leadership contests. He has also reported on four US elections.

He has 14 nominations for major awards in journalism, including 10 in the last seven years at the British Press Awards. He was named its Political Reporter of the Year and Political Commentator of the Year in 2018.

"Recent events have shown how quickly the global landscape can change. With Tim’s expertise and experience, he’ll provide some useful insights into the economic environment and the upcoming challenges to be prepared for that will certainly be of interest to the local business community," said Edward Devenport, Partner and International Practice Group Head at Mourant.

The Forum will feature industry experts from Mourant and a range of other firms who will provide an overview of recent developments within industry, including the most significant judicial decisions and their potential implications.

Sessions will cover a range of subjects including recent cases concerning trusts, cryptocurrency and Non-Fungible Tokens, Environmental, Social and Governance, legal and fiduciary issues, single family structures, financial sanctions, blessing applications and forthcoming challenges and opportunities for the private wealth sector.

The Guernsey Forum, which is at St Pierre Park Hotel, pictured top, is sponsored by Butterfield and BDO. Paul Hodgson, Deputy Group Head of Trust at Butterfield, will chair the event.
