Ogier has advised Blackstone on a $1.6bn acquisition of Hipgnosis Songs Fund Ltd.
The firm's corporate and dispute resolution teams in Guernsey worked with Lyra Bidco Ltd, a newly formed company owned by investment firms advised by affiliates of Blackstone, to get the huge deal over the line.
The corporate team included partners Richard Sharp and Byron Rees, counsel James Walsh, senior associate Diana Collas, and associate Amy Parker, with managing associate Michael Rogers and associate Margeaux Newman undertaking the advocacy.
They help to guide lead counsel Kirkland & Ellis International LLP on the nuances of Guernsey law and regulation.
Blackstone is a leading investment firm with over $1tn in assets under management at the end of last year.
Hipgnosis was set up in 2018 to provide investors a simple exposure to music royalties and intellectual property rights. Its catalogues include over 40,000 songs with copyright and income from some of the top artist of the past five decades.
