New manager needed to help GO grow

Wednesday 03 June 2020

The GO Charity shops are looking for a new General Manager to help take the organisation on to a new era to further boost the work it already does to help its trainees become ready for other workplaces.

GO is a Social Enterprise Project which was launched 12 years ago with the primary objective of giving its clients; who have a range of disabilities and health conditions, the supervision, training and support they need to enable them to become ready for employment elsewhere

Justine Gaudion, a trustee of GO said the newly created General Manger position will be key in progressing the charity’s strategy.

“We are investing in a paid position because, while we think that the person taking on the role will have a genuine interest in making a difference for people with a disability trying to enter the job market, we need to attract someone who is also a driven and experienced retailer with a keen business brain, marketing skills and the ability to lead.

"It’s a hugely varied and challenging job, from supporting the managers, staff and volunteers of the retail outlets, workshops and re-cycling centre, to working with key partners such as States of Guernsey, Social Security and Guernsey Employment Trust - it’s full-time and full on but also immensely rewarding.”

Anyone interested in the position, or in supporting GO in any other way can visit their Facebook pages or contact Joni at joni@foundation.gg.
