Will Wright has joined Santander International as the new Chief Operating Officer for the Channel Islands and the Isle of Man.
As well as being COO for the Crown Dependencies division, he is to join the bank’s Managing Director, Chief Finance Officer, and Isle of Man Managing Director on the Executive Committee.
Mr Wright joins Santander International from his previous role as Partner at Rubicon Fund Management.
James Pountney, Managing Director, Santander International, said: “This is an exciting time for Santander International. Will understands the way we are heading and has the technical skills and insight to help us continue our digital development and keep us at the forefront of banking in the Crown Dependencies.
“Will brings an incredible wealth of high-level financial services experience to the role and we are looking forward to working with him to take Santander International into the next phase of our growth in the Channel Islands and the Isle of Man.”
Originally from London, he has lived in Jersey since 2014. In his spare time he is a keen cyclist and triathlete, and coaches two junior age groups at Jersey Rugby Club.
Mr Wright said: “Technology has a huge role to play in this current period of digital transformation in the international banking industry and Santander International has recognised this opportunity. I’m delighted to be able to work with Santander International to focus on initiatives that understand and address our customers’ needs, placing them at the centre of our development process.”
