Channel Island distribution company, Mercury Distribution has appointed a new Commercial Director, Joel Richardson.
It is a new role for the company as it looks to expand on and off the island.
Mr Richardson has joined the team during a crucial period for Mercury Distribution and brings 25 years of experience having previously worked as the General Manager of Pack & Wrap at JJ Fox Trading and running his own business working in the fresh produce and fulfilment sectors.
He said: "This wasn’t exactly how I thought my first week in the new role would be and it is a major challenge, but one which I embrace. Our teams in Jersey and Guernsey are working extremely hard, focusing our supply to make sure our customers in both Islands continue to be served to the highest standard. Our warehouse is well-stocked and we are ready to deliver to both business partners and our home delivery service using the approved safety guidelines to anyone who needs us."
CEO Nigel Campbell added: "Joel is a strategic appointment and somebody who will support our desire to continue to grow successfully on the islands and potentially in the UK. Short term, this is a critical time for our Islands and Joel’s experience will be a tremendous benefit to our partners and colleagues at Mercury as we endeavor to support our front line workers."
