Julius Baer Guernsey has chosen a new bursary student, Zac Taylor, after he impressed the selection panel with his grades and the delivery of a strong presentation on the economics of padel and tennis.

Zac, who recently completed his A Levels at Elizabeth College, has secured a place at the University of Surrey, where he will begin studying Economics and Finance this term.

Zac is the second student to be awarded the Julius Baer Guernsey bursary, which emphasises the bank's commitment to nurturing young talent and developing the next generation of financial professionals.

As part of the bursary, Zac will receive £2,500 during his first year of university and will have paid employment with the bank during holidays.

"I'm really pleased to have been chosen as this year's bursary student," he said. "The chance to gain real-world experience in the financial sector, especially with a company like Julius Baer, is invaluable.

"My presentation on the economics of tennis and padel was a way for me to combine my academic interests with my personal passions, and I'm glad it resonated with the panel."

Jean-Luc Le Tocq, Head of Private Banking at Julius Baer Guernsey, said: "We are confident that Zac will thrive in this program and look forward to supporting his academic and professional journey. We are committed to investing in young people who are the future of Guernsey's financial sector and Zac demonstrates the kind of talent we are eager to nurture."
