Two lawyers at Mourant have been recognised in the 2019 IFLR1000 Women Leaders list.

Frances Watson and Jacqueline Richomme have been named by IFLR1000 as among the 'elite cohort' of leading female transactional experts globally, and are the only two Channel Islands based lawyers to be included on the list.

Ms Watson is a Partner and Guernsey Advocate in the Finance and Corporate team in the Guernsey office. With over 20 years’ experience, her practice covers corporate and commercial matters, finance, investment funds, listings, regulatory advice and restructurings.

Ms Richomme is a Consultant based in Jersey, specialising in funds and corporate and commercial work. She has worked on many innovative securitisations, asset-backed financing and commercial property financing structures.  Her investment funds practice focuses on private equity and property funds.

"IFLR1000 is one of the world's leading corporate focused legal directories, so I'm delighted to be recognised in their 2019 Women Leaders list and am very grateful to colleagues and clients for their support. It is particularly pleasing to win this award at a time when Mourant has shown leadership in the offshore legal world through its diversity and inclusion programme," Ms Watson said.

The list aims to endorse women who have progressed to the top of the financial and corporate law market. All the lawyers in Women Leaders are IFLR1000 Leading Lawyers and are recognised by the guide as market leaders, regardless of their gender.

Mourant Global Managing Partner, Jonathan Rigby, said: "Frances and Jacqueline are excellent lawyers, both with highly regarded practices and genuine passion for their work. To be the only two Channel Island lawyers recognised in in the IFLR1000 Women's Leaders List is an excellent achievement.

"Inclusion is one of our key business priorities and we believe that nurturing a culture of inclusivity and mutual respect is vital to enabling and empowering each individual to reach their full potential. Frances and Jacqueline's recognition is a strong reflection of this culture. Congratulations to them both for this well-deserved accolade."
