Mourant, the law firm-led professional services business, has announced a record number of 58 promotions globally, with 30 of these in the Guernsey and Jersey offices.

In the Channel Islands, the firm has promoted 11 people in the legal practice, 15 in affiliated business, Mourant Governance Services and four in Business Services. The promotions are effective 1 May 2022.

In Guernsey, Finance and Corporate specialist Sam Malpass has been promoted to Counsel along with litigator Laurie Child in Jersey.

Nine Associates across the legal practice have been promoted to Senior Associate. In Guernsey, litigator Greg Coburn, property specialist Laura Bougourd and Alexander Hawkins in the International Trusts & Private Client (ITPC) team become Senior Associates. 

In the Jersey Finance, Corporate and Funds practice groups, Andrew Haslett, Corrie Howarth, Emma Huelin, Sally Müller and Sean Hedges have also been promoted to Senior Associates along with Chiara Mundy in the Jersey ITPC team. 

In the Mourant Governance Services Jersey team, Claire De La Haye has been promoted to Director of Client Services along with Kalpana Piradeepan who is promoted to Director of Client Accounting. Leo Cavendish is promoted to Associate Director, Transaction Management, Paul McGinness is promoted to Associate Director, Client Services and Tom McAlister becomes a Senior Manager, Client Services.

Ross Breton in Guernsey is promoted to Senior Administrator, Client Services alongside Jersey colleagues Abbie Weaver, Kasia Reszka and Melissa Vismer. Julia Hunkin in Guernsey is promoted to Administrator, Client Services.

In the Global Client Accounting team, Edyta De Sousa and Mark Gibbons are promoted to Senior Manager. Abbner Ongus is promoted to Manager and Manfred Chikwanda to Assistant Manager. In Global Operations, Victoria Du Val is promoted to Manager.

In the Business Services team, Claire Nash is promoted to Client Take-On Team Lead and Nathaniel Amies-Nash becomes Senior Client Take-On Administrator in the Guernsey Risk & Compliance team. In Jersey, Marianne Stubbs has been promoted to Human Resources Operations Manager and Eleana Miller becomes Senior Business Development Executive.
