Tuesday 13 October 2020

The 2021 edition of Legal 500 UK has brought much success for Guernsey law firms.

The industry guide ranks law firms following an independent research process, which includes interviews with clients and peers.

Carey Olsen has been ranked in Tier One for 18 practice areas across Guernsey and Jersey in the latest edition, while 12 of its lawyers feature in the Legal 500 'Hall of Fame'.

In addition, 26 of the firm's lawyers have been recognised as 'leading individuals', five have been recognised as 'leading individuals' and a further 19 have been referred to as 'rising stars'.

Meanwhile, Collas Crill has been recommended as a Top Tier firm in four practice areas in Guernsey and Jersey, and five of the firm's practice areas moved up a tier compared to previous years.

Three Collas Crill lawyers now feature in the 'Hall of Fame' and several others have been acknowledged in the 'next generation partners' and 'rising stars' categories'.

Mourant has maintained 12 Tier One rankings across the Channel Islands market, while 47 of its lawyers across Guernsey and Jersey have been individually ranked by the Legal 500.

Appleby has also had a successful year, holding top tier places in many areas across its offices in Guernsey, Jersey and the Isle of Man.

Three of its local lawyers have been listed as 'leading individuals', while two have made it to the 'next generation partners' list and one other has been recognised as a 'rising star'.

Babbe has been listed as a top tier firm for dispute resolution in the rankings and seven lawyers have been listed for their contribution, including all of the firm's partners dealing in financial services-related work.

Ferbrache & Farrell has continued its upward progression in the rankings after less than four years in operation, and has had nine lawyers from all departments named in the guide.
