KPMG are First in the Channel Islands for Cyber Security Qualification

Friday 06 July 2018

Matej Jurkic, KPMG's Cyber Advisory Manager, has become the first SABSA Chartered Security Architect registered in the Channel Islands, having completed the Foundation Certificate (SCF).

The enterprise architecture qualification, SABSA, is used globally to develop and implement business-driven, risk and opportunity focused security architectures at both enterprise and solutions level.

The SABSA framework is used in sectors as diverse as Banking, Nuclear Power, Information Services, Communications Technology, Manufacturing and Government, to ensure business needs are met completely and that security services are designed, delivered and supported as an integral part of IT management infrastructure.

Mr Jurkic joined KPMG in the Channel Islands in 2014 and has over a decade of experience in Information Security. He focuses on aligning business and security strategies for clients across the Channel Islands, sourcing smart, creative and forward-thinking approaches to overcome a variety of security challenges.

Neale Jehan, Managing Partner, KPMG in the Channel Islands, said: "We are delighted to congratulate Matej on being one of only 7,000 individuals to hold this qualification worldwide and on becoming the first certified professional registered in the Channel Islands.

"Dealing with cyber threats is a complex challenge. The Information Security landscape is constantly evolving and it is no longer viable to rely solely on defensive strategies. We must continue to develop forward-thinking approaches to be able to provide our clients with the best, most secure, advice possible."
