ISLEFACT launches with first review out now

Friday 20 September 2024

A new service is launching to offer island based businesses information about risks they may face and how to minimise any impact from those challenges.

Led by Chris Brock, guest speaker at the Chamber of Commerce lunch in October, ISLEFACT offers access to a Review programme on a retained basis.

The first Review has already been published, looking at Island Resilience.

This in particular focuses on the risks facing island communities which are reliant on one economic sector, such as tourism or finance.

ISLEFACT says it aims to "inform and support island organisations" through its services which will identify the implications of rapidly changing global and regional conditions on a broad sample of island communities, analyse the resultant economic, social, and environmental impact and risk scenarios on island administrations and economic/social sectors and then set out possible options to minimise such impacts and risks.

The next Review, due out in October, will focus on labour supply challenges and the impact on island communities.
