IQ-EQ has announced that Elaine Smeja has joined its Guernsey business as Director, Funds, while Nel Schoeman has been appointed as Director, Corporate.
Ms Smeja has nearly 20 years’ experience in the funds industry. Most recently, she was Executive Director at Maitland Administration where she was responsible for overseeing all areas of the Fund Administration team, reviewing oversight programmes in line with regulatory and procedural guidelines, as well as certain compliance reporting and acting as nominated officer for the company.
In her new role, she will lead and manage all aspects and activities relating to the development of IQ-EQ Guernsey’s Funds business.
Meanwhile, Mr Schoeman joins IQ-EQ from Stonehage Fleming - previously Maitland - where he had been since 2014 after relocating from South Africa. He holds a commerce and various law degrees and has substantial client relationship management experience.
In his role as Corporate Director, Mr Schoeman will initially provide additional support to the Private Wealth business on a number of key initiatives and there after assume responsibility for IQ-EQ Guernsey’s Corporate function on a full-time basis.
