The Institute of Directors’ annual Mid-Term Debate will take place next month, to consider the top priorities of the business community ahead of the island’s General Election.
The event, sponsored by Carey Olsen, will take place on September 16 at St James.
IoD Chair John Clacy hopes that the event will highlight the needs of the business community as the island prepares to implement the Revive and Thrive strategy.
“As we head towards Guernsey’s first island-wide election, this is the perfect opportunity for businesses to put forward their thoughts to the island’s future States, and really discuss how Guernsey needs to move forward, and in particular, build back better,” he said.
A survey of IoD members will form the basis of the evening’s discussion. It will be circulated before the event, and the results will be presented in a panel discussion moderated by James Falla.

Russell Clark, Managing Partner of Carey Olsen, feels that the event has never been more important, given the events of the past few months. “We are proud to once again support the IoD with their flagship events in Guernsey,” he said.
“They always highlight and discuss the most important issues facing Guernsey businesses, and in the current climate it has never been more crucial to get the priorities and make-up of the next States of Deliberation right,”
“I am looking forward to what promises to be a lively and interesting debate.”
