IoD appoints six to committee

Thursday 14 December 2023

The Institute of Directors (IoD) in Guernsey has made six appointments to its committee, saying that the new recruits will increase the group’s "diversity of experience, skills, backgrounds and industries".

The committee members are also known as IoD Ambassadors, and they are tasked with embodying the ethos of the IoD by connecting, supporting and offering guidance and expertise to members.

The appointments include Mat Desforges; Business Strategy Lead at Guernsey Electricity and Business Consultant, Charlotte Dunsterville; Managing Partner at UN1TY, Andrew Essa; Director and Co-Head of Management Consulting at BDO Jersey and C5 Alliance, Katy Hodgetts; experienced independent Non-Executive Director, Jo Huxtable; Tax Director at Deloitte, and Matt Polli; Managing Director at RW Randall.

Ms Huxtable is also appointed as Deputy Chair of the IoD Guernsey, sharing that role with Sally Rochester.

Glen Tonks, Chair of the IoD Guernsey Branch, congratulated each on their new role.

He said these appointments were made following an extensive formal recruitment process focused on further broadening the skills and experience of the existing committee.

"I’m really excited to welcome the six new IoD Ambassadors to our committee. The latest appointments will not only strengthen our coverage and experience across all industries & sectors, but they also bring new ideas, perspectives and knowledge. They are highly regarded and respected by their peers and have a passion for a better business world through good corporate governance."
