Insurance Corporation awarded Chartered Insurers Status

Friday 23 March 2018

The Insurance Corporation of the Channel Islands Limited (ICCI) is proud to announce that the Company has been awarded the prestigious Chartered Insurers status by the Chartered Insurance Institute (CII).

Chartered status is an exclusive accreditation only awarded to firms that meets rigorous criteria relating to professionalism and capability and positions ICCI as part of an elite group.

Steve Jenkins, Development Director from the CII said: “We are delighted that the Insurance Corporation of the Channel Islands has achieved the award of Chartered Insurers status. Customers are increasingly looking at Chartered status as the badge of commitment to standards, professionalism and trust.”

Mandy Hunt, ACII Chartered Insurer and Managing Director of ICCI said: Chartered status is a fantastic achievement for ICCI and provides further training and development opportunities for our pan island team. It underlines the dedication and professionalism of the highly skilled and experienced team we have in place supporting our Brokers. RSA, our parent company, has outlined its aims to be “best in class” and this award is recognition that every part of the Group is committed to technical competence across our core disciplines of Underwriting, Claims and Pricing.”

Ms Hunt added “We are also thrilled to achieve Chartered Insurers status in the same year as two members of our staff stand as President for the local CII branches. Sarah Beatty is President of the Insurance Institute of Guernsey and Donna Binet is President of the Insurance Institute of Jersey.”

ICCI celebrated 35 years in business last year and has a strong track record of investing in professionalism of its people with the support and backing of its parent company, RSA, which itself was awarded Chartered Insurers status in May 2017.

Alan Scott, Regions South Director of the Commercial Risk Solutions business in RSA commented: “We are delighted that ICCI has achieved Chartered Status, following swiftly on the back of RSA achieving Chartered Status in 2017! We recognise that investment in training and development for our people is part of reaching our ‘best in class’ aspiration and we want to ensure that technical competence in underwriting, pricing and claims is at the heart of what we do. Chartered status is a fantastic achievement for ICCI and it opens the door to further training and development opportunities for our people. We are committed to investing in professional development for existing employees and attracting new talent.”
