Index recognition for Saffery Champness directors

Thursday 20 October 2022

Two Saffery Champness directors have been recognised as 'Top Offshore Experts for high-net-worth individuals' in the Spear’s 500 Tax and Trust Advisers Index 2022.

Managing Director Nick Batiste and Director Helen Green were both ranked as “top recommended” following a review of peer nominations, client feedback, interviews and information gathered by the Spear’s editorial and research teams.

Mr Batiste (pictured) said the recognition was testament to decades of experience gained across the firm’s teams in the Channel Islands, Cayman Islands, Dubai and Switzerland.

“Saffery Champness’ distinctive independent structure means we are not restricted in exploring any opportunity for our clients. This autonomy has allowed us to attain expertise across a broad-spectrum and engage with an extensive global network of specialists,” he said.

“We are continually evolving our service offering to meet the needs of our clients. A prime example of this is the establishment of our digital asset team in Guernsey, one of the first of its kind in the island.

“We were first approached by a client wanting to invest in cryptocurrency five years ago and, rather than shy away from what was a relatively unknown market, we allocated resources to work with specialists and develop a robust understanding of the management of digital assets. We now hold digital asset portfolios for ultra-high-net-worth clients and mitigate the risks of a volatile market.

“It is this level of dedication to our client service which has contributed to our recognition as Top Offshore Experts.”

Helen Green added that the inclusion in the Spear’s index extended to the firm’s wider team.

“While Nick and I are, of course, honoured to have been recognised as Top Offshore Experts, it is thanks to all the Saffery Champness team members across our four jurisdictions,” she said.

“Client service is a cornerstone of our operations, and it is something that we see at the forefront of our team on a daily basis. We work in partnership with our clients to understand their interests and objectives. We then tailor our services to best fulfil the needs of those clients, which can often include multi-structure and multi-jurisdictional solutions.”
