Helvetia Challenge returns

Thursday 12 July 2018

The triathlon inspired fundraising challenge, organised and supported by Credit Suisse staff, is being held again today.

After the success of last year's inaugural event, the firm has made some changes to enable even more people to get involved.

As well as staff of Credit Suisse, including the CEO and Guernsey Branch Manager, Paul Annegarn, staff representing other companies and organisations will be taking part, including from Guernsey Fire and Rescue Service and The Guernsey Triathlon Club.

Each team will have members swimming from Castle Cornet to Octopus Restaurant, cycling up and down Les Val de Terres and running between the Aquarium and Castle Cornet. Some participants will be completing five full consecutive laps themselves - all setting off together at 13:00.

The event itself will run from 12:00 until 18:00 with traffic management systems in place around Havelet Bay and Le Val Des Terres.

The organisers hope that collectively the event will raise £50,000 for various charities with Credit Suisse aiming to raise more than £15,000 for their chosen charity; Guernsey Alzheimer’s Association, while other teams have been encouraged to raise funds for their own supported charities.

Entry into the triathlon was free and all teams were provided access to a Just Giving fundraising page.
