Guernsey underwriter chosen for national ‘new generation’ programme

An underwriter who leads a team at Insurance Corporation has been chosen for a national programme that supports the ‘new generation’.

Emily Tulier is Trading & Service lead at IC and is the only person in the Channel Islands to have been chosen for the Chartered Insurance Institute’s flagship talent ‘New Generation Programme’.

“Being in Guernsey, we can sometimes be a bit removed from the UK situation, so it will be a real challenge but also an incredible opportunity to see the other side of insurance that we are often detached from,” she said.

The programme will see 40 upcoming professionals from within the insurance industry work together in teams of four to develop projects beneficial to the profession.

“Insurers in the Channel Islands can face different challenges to those on the mainland, so I’m exciting to draw on my own experiences to bring a fresh perspective to the team and learn from the others who are perhaps more exposed to the kinds of issues we’ll be dealing with,” she concluded.

The managing director of IC said it was a great opportunity not only for Emily, but for the business itself.

“This is a fantastic opportunity for Emily to develop her knowledge and skillset that will undoubtedly benefit both Emily’s development, the office and our company as a whole,” said Mark Marshall.
