GTA and law firm join forces to expose rogue employees

Wednesday 30 January 2019

The GTA University Centre and Carey Olsen are working together today to explore what companies should do when an employee turns rogue.

The ‘Policing the Rogues’ event this lunchtime has been designed to help employers understand what they can and cannot do if an employee won’t comply with accepted standards of company practice.

Head of Litigation and Employment Elaine Gray and Counsel Carly Parrott from Carey Olsen will be leading the conference. It will cover many aspects of employment law, including how it interacts with other areas such as data protection, criminal liability, regulatory risks, vicarious liability and harassment.

The GTA’s Head of University Programmes, Kate Lenfestey said: “It’s fantastic to be partnering with Carey Olsen to deliver a truly unique learning opportunity which will bring to life the issues that businesses can face when an employee goes rogue.

“The conference was devised to help people understand how to navigate complex relationships with employees and recognise what actions they should and shouldn’t take in a fun and informative way.

“The session will cover everything from the employer's legal responsibilities and the areas of risk, and potential liability they may face.”

Policing the Rogues will take place at St Pierre Park Hotel from 08:00 to 12:30 today.
