Grant Thornton employees have been trained in how to use a defibrillator after the company sponsored one which is now available for use inside its St Peter Port premises.
A third of Grant Thornton Guernsey employees took part in the training exercise and are now fully trained on how to use the defibrillator which can be used to treat life threatening conditions with the application of an electric current to the chest wall or heart.
The staff who took part said the step by step training given by the instructor, has given them the knowledge and confidence to deal with an emergency to potentially save a life.
The company is now going to offer a second session, encouraging all of their Guernsey staff to receive the training.
The defibrillator is free to use by the public and will be available between 08:30 and 17:00, Monday to Fridays at Grant Thornton’s office reception, at Lefebvre Street, St Peter Port.
