Global media experts speaking in Guernsey today

Wednesday 12 September 2018

Some of the "thinkers and leaders from some of the world’s biggest social networks" are in Guernsey for a conference where they'll be giving local business leaders their advice.

The free event, which is being organised by the Guernsey Marketing Forum and sponsored by Specsavers, will provide insight into digital thinking, with experts from Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and Snapchat.

Taking place at St James the organisers hope the event will inspire "not just the marketing, advertising and communications talent locally, but also islanders from all fields including students."

Vicky Norman of the newly-established Guernsey Marketing Forum said she had been amazed by the number of people who had shown an interest and reserved a ticket.

"We are really excited to be bringing over these leading experts, all of which will have lots of interesting insights and advice to share with everyone. We want attendees to return home feeling not just more informed, but more inspired to do great things.  We hope the event will help islanders to learn about and take advantage of the powerful insights from those at the top of their game in their field."

During the event, each of the four speakers will share their journey and give rare insights into what they believe the industry’s future will look like. Attendees will then have the opportunity to quiz them through a Q&A session led by Natalie Bell, managing director at media agency, Manning Gottlieb OMD.

Seating in St James will be available both downstairs and upstairs. Choice will be given on a first come first served basis.
