Global media experts head to Guernsey next week for free event

Thursday 06 September 2018

There is just one week left to get tickets to see thinkers and leaders from some of the world’s biggest social networks in Guernsey.

The free event, which is being organised by the Guernsey Marketing Forum and sponsored by Specsavers, will showcase the very latest in digital thinking, with insights from powerful social media experts from Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and Snapchat.

Taking place at St James on Wednesday 12 September, it is hoped the event will inspire not just the marketing, advertising and communications talent locally, but also islanders from all fields including students.

Attendees will get to learn from four innovators and marketers who continue to push the boundaries, while also networking with some of the most important players in the industry.

Vicky Norman of the newly-established Guernsey Marketing Forum said she had been amazed by the amount of islanders who had shown an interest and reserved a ticket.

"More than 400 people have reserved a ticket to next week’s event which is brilliant, but there is still time to get your free ticket so just head to our Facebook page," she said.

"We are really excited to be bringing over these leading experts, all of which will have lots of interesting insights and advice to share with everyone. We want attendees to return home feeling not just more informed, but more inspired to do great things.  We hope the event will help islanders to learn about and take advantage of the powerful insights from those at the top of their game in their field."

During the event, each of the four speakers will share their journey and give rare insights into what they believe the industry’s future will look like. Attendees will then have the opportunity to quiz them through a Q&A session led by Natalie Bell, Managing Director at media agency, Manning Gottlieb OMD.

Ms Bell began her media career in 2001, working at IPCMedia, then the UK’s biggest magazine publisher. Having been completely hooked by everything in the digital space, she joined Manning Gottlieb OMD head office in London in January 2008.

For more information and to get a ticket please visit the Guernsey Marketing Forum Facebook page.

Seating in St James will be available both downstairs and upstairs. Choice will be given on a first come first served basis.
