Guernsey Chamber of Commerce has launched its Founders Connect event with the inaugural gathering said to have been a success.
Held at the Digital Greenhouse last month, sponsored by Sure Business, it saw 30 entrepreneurs, business owners, and founders chat over pizzas and beer.
Alice Gill, Executive Director of Chamber said Founders Connect will run quarterly at The Guernsey Chamber of Commerce.
“Someone said to me after the event, that it was 'Interesting people doing interesting things' and I believe this perfectly captures the essence of Founders Connect. We wanted this to be a safe space, free of the expectations of rehearsed pitches or speeches, focusing instead on fostering genuine connections and relationships.
"We’re so grateful that with the help of our sponsor Sure Business, we’re able to provide this additional event to our community.”
Cyrille Joffre, Chief Technical Information Officer at Sure Business, expressed enthusiasm for the event, stating: "Connecting our island communities is very much a future focus for us, so it’s great to support an initiative that fosters natural and easy business connections.
"We hope this event will strengthen current professional relationships and forge new, long-standing ones too. I can say that the atmosphere in the room was vibrant, and the conversation flowed effortlessly; I’ll be attending again."
