Carey Olsen senior associate James Stockwell has been admitted as an advocate of the Royal Court of Guernsey.

The corporate lawyer was called to the Guernsey Bar at a swearing in ceremony at the Royal Court on 12 March 2018.

Advocate Stockwell, who is a member of the firm's corporate and finance practice, has successfully completed the Guernsey Bar exams and the Certificat d’Études Juridiques Françaises et Normandes at the University of Caen.

Ben Morgan, head of Carey Olsen's corporate and finance group in Guernsey, said: "We are delighted to see James called as a Guernsey advocate and congratulate him on his success in completing the Guernsey Bar examinations. Since joining Carey Olsen, James has developed a strong practice and he is a valuable member of the corporate team in Guernsey."

Advocate Stockwell joined Carey Olsen in 2011, after a number of years working as a solicitor in the financial institutions group of Hogan Lovells in London. He advises international and local clients on corporate, regulatory and commercial law matters, with an emphasis on mergers and acquisitions, investment funds and insurance and reinsurance.
