C5 Alliance CEO becomes Fellow of IET

Wednesday 14 November 2018

The Chief Executive Officer of Channel Island technology business C5 Alliance, Scott Workman OBE, has been appointed a Fellow of the Institute of Engineering and Technology (IET).

The IET is a multidisciplinary professional engineering institution with a worldwide membership of like-minded individuals and professionals. It represents the engineering professions in matters of public concern and assists governments to raise awareness of engineering and technological issues.

The Fellow of the Institution of Engineering and Technology title is given to those who have demonstrated significant individual responsibility and sustained achievement and professionalism in engineering.

Mr Workman has extensive experience in defining technology requirements for demanding information and communication users working challenging environments. His senior roles have seen him lead in the adoption of new technologies, and he has a reputation for advising senior decision-makers on complex issues.

In his previous role as Chief Operating Officer of the UK Ministry of Defence’s Information Systems and Services division, he led a team of military, public service and technology industry specialists in the delivery of a programme to transform information services.

Mr Workman said: “I have always recognised the IET as a well thought of and dynamic organisation. It’s world-renowned, highly professional and is investing in developing the next generation of engineers and technologists, as well as encouraging more women into the profession. These values align with C5 Alliance and I look forward to playing my part in giving advice and guidance to those progressing in the industry.

“It’s an honour to be made a fellow and it also reflects well on C5 - an example of where world-class local businesses can punch above their weight.”

C5 Alliance Group Director, Rob Leader said: “Scott’s designation as a fellow of the IET, one of the professional bodies that best represents the skillsets of our business, perfectly underlines the respect that his experience and expertise commands.”
