As part of its continued efforts to look after the local environment, Butterfield chose to do a beach clean-up at Grandes Rocques for its annual community day.
Butterfield employees were encouraged to bring along family and friends, with 57 volunteers turning out for the event on Saturday 8 September.
As part of the Group-wide initiative, Butterfied offices in Bermuda, the Cayman Islands, Canada and Guernsey each took part in a beach clean-up while the London office cleaned a park.
The Guernsey team collected five bags of rubbish, weighing 20kg, containing a mixture of wrappers, plastic, wood and rope.
Richard Saunders, managing director at Butterfield Bank (Guernsey) Limited, said: "At Butterfield, we are consciously trying to do our bit for the environment and for the communities we call home.
"This year’s beach clean up was our way of giving back to the Guernsey community. As part of our environmental efforts, we are also providing eco-friendly supplies for employees including stainless steel water bottles and reusable coffee cups for daily use."
The community day is part of Butterfield Group’s other initiatives to help protect and improve the environment, including its work with the Seabin Project as a Global Pilot Partner, which fights against ocean plastics.
