Oak has announced it will be the new sponsor for the Beau Sejour Barracudas Swimming Club.

The company, which also supports the Beau Sejour Swim School, will ensure Barracudas members can continue to compete in all levels in the sport including club, county, regional, national and international competitions.

The Barracudas are the Beau Sejour Swim School's flagship competitive squad. Despite being trained under the swim school's banner, all aspects of competition and social activities are undertaken on a voluntary basis.

There are currently 150 swimmers in the squad, ranging from eight-years-old to Masters, and more than 2,000 people attend lessons at the swim school each week.

"Swimming is a core life skill, particularly living on an island, and the Barracudas and Swim School do an excellent job promoting swimming to the Guernsey community and coaching individuals from basic ability right through to competitive sporting standard," said Oak Chief Executive Offier Stuart Platt-Ransom.

"We're looking forward to supporting the Club Championships Series, to be known as the Oak Series and encouraging a new generation of swimmers to reach their full potential."

Directors of the Barracudas Alison Frankland and Debbie Le Noury added: "We are extremely grateful for Oak's support. The club relies heavily on its solid team of volunteers and Oak's involvement means that our swimmers can continue to compete at the highest level both on and off the island."

Oak's branding has been included in a full revamp of the Barracuda and swim school kit as part of the sponsorship.
