Appleby has announced the retainment of its Planet Mark Business certification after reducing its carbon emissions by over a third.
The law firm was able to achieve a 37.2% absolute reduction in measured Scope 1 and 2 emissions and a 39.2% per employee reduction compared to the previous year.
To retain its certificate, the company was required to measure and reduce emissions across the Group while working to improve data quality.
A Planet Mark Certified status is an independently recognised symbol of sustainability progress which demonstrates an organisation’s commitment to measuring and reducing their carbon emissions.
Group Managing Partner Malcolm Moller said he was "delighted" to retain the status.

“We are delighted to have retained our Planet Mark Business Certification for 2024 and to have achieved such a significant reduction in carbon emissions," he said.
"I want to extend my thanks to colleagues across our organisation who have worked on sustainability initiatives, large and small, which contributed to this success.
"It’s important that we continually review our progress and we know there is more to do but this is a tremendous foundation on which to build our efforts to decarbonise.”
