Appleby named "leading firm" in Chambers Global High Net Worth Guide

Friday 27 July 2018

Appleby has been recognised for the third year running in the Chambers Global 2018 High Net Worth Guide for the work it undertakes in the Private Client & Trusts sector.

Seven lawyers from across Appleby’s global network have been recognised, with Partner and Head of Appleby’s Private Client & Trusts team Carlos de Serpa Pimentel achieving Band 1 status.

Also included in the Guide are Partner and Group Head for the Private Client and Trusts practice in Bermuda, Vanessa Schrum, Jersey Partners David Dorgan and Fraser Robertson, Guernsey Partner Alison MacKrill and Isle of Man-based Counsel David Pytches (Solicitor, England & Wales). Bermuda based Counsel Ashley Fife is also listed in the guide as a “rising star” in the sector.

The Guide, which is collated by undertaking independent research by a team of private wealth researchers over a 12 month period, describes them as "technically very able on trust and company law matters” as well as stating the firm is “efficient and responsive, and can handle very sophisticated matters."

Speaking on the recognition, Mr de Serpa said: “We are delighted to be recognised once again across our multi-jurisdictional Private Client & Trusts practice. We believe this demonstrates our commitment to delivering the best possible outcome for our clients, in addition to the dynamic and comprehensive knowledge we share as a global team.”

Appleby's Private Client & Trusts group provides trust and foundation services to high net worth individuals, families, and fiduciary companies. They advise on all aspects of trust law, including the establishment, administration, restructuring and termination of private, charitable, commercial trusts and foundations. Members of the global team act in a personal capacity as Protector, Enforcer and Director (of PTCs) for a number of discretionary trusts.
