Local accountancy firm Evans Bond has announced its acquisition of Books & Co.
The two firms’ teams and client bases will be consolidated under the Evans Bond brand.
The acquisition was completed in July, after an agreement to sell was reached between Books & Co owner John Merrien and Evans Bond founder and CEO, Jon Bond.
Both teams have moved into its new office space at Brook House in St Martins.
As part of its long-term investment, the firm has also brought Senior Accountant and Manager Jordan Williams into the team.
Her hire and the buyout reflect Evans Bond’s strategy of investing in targeted growth and upscaling its offering to provide services beyond statutory accounting, including high-level strategic consultation and a fractional CFO service.
Mr Bond said: “Evans Bond has been on a significant growth trajectory for the past year thanks to an influx of both retained clients and ad-hoc consultancy work. This has allowed us to consider strategic acquisitions as part of our growth strategy, and our purchase of Books & Co is the first step on a much longer journey.
“The timing is auspicious as we also welcome Jordan to the team, who has already demonstrated her immense value. Her refined skillset and focus on new technologies ensure Evans Bond is moving forward and expanding our offering and we are all excited to have her on the team.”
She said: “I am excited to be joining Evans Bond during such a pivotal moment. I look forward to playing a part in enhancing the firm’s offering and I am pleased to be joining a company under the directorship of Jon, whose values and modern ideas align with my own.”
