ABN AMRO banker gains new qualification

Wednesday 30 January 2019

In an unusual move a senior Guernsey based private banker has attained a globally-recognised qualification in another discipline.

Stefano Finetti, of ABN AMRO Channel Islands, has gained the STEP Diploma in International Trust Management, which is regarded as out of the ordinary for a private banker.

Mr Finetti undertook the diploma to develop his understanding of the fiduciary sector. The diploma is designed for trust professionals who wish to develop their knowledge even further, and it gave Mr Finetti an insight into fiduciary practices from a global and local perspective. It also covered topics such as international trust vehicles, legal structures and principles and practices that underpin the trust profession.

Mr Finetti who is a Senior Private Banker with responsibility for business development within the bank said: "Despite the course attendees being a real mix, it came as no surprise to me that I was the only banker."

By achieving the diploma he has obtained STEP membership and Trust & Estate Practitioner (TEP) status.

Graham Thoume, Managing Director ABN AMRO Channel Islands said: "This is a fantastic achievement and demonstrates how ABN AMRO’s employees are willing to go above and beyond industry standard to become specialists in their field. This type of specialism distinguishes us from the competition."
