5G test sites to launch

JT has announced it will be launching a 5G test site in both Guernsey and Jersey.

The following statement has been released today on behalf of the telecoms firm, following a decision made by CICRA.

“JT announced today that it has launched a 5G test site in Jersey and a 5G test site in Guernsey, following receipt of a licence to do so from CICRA in March 2019 and in line with a commitment announced in November 2018.

"The test will provide important technical and planning information to support JT’s forthcoming applications for a licence to extend its leading 2G/3G/4G networks towards 5G, once the process for doing so is announced by CICRA."
