With six months to go before Guernsey's first island wide election, a survey has been launched to find out what the most important issues are facing the business community.
It's been put together by the Guernsey branch of the Institute of Directors, which says it needs feedback from members and business leaders to ensure those issues are at the forefront of candidates minds as manifestos are put together early next year.
The IoD says it wants to "make sure that businesses’ needs are part of the conversation as candidates assemble their manifestos, the electorate considers their options and the next States start the new term."
The survey consists of four-questions which is said to only take a few minutes to complete. The responses will be collated and "used to provide the insight needed to focus the IoD’s energy on issues that matter to members and contribute to the lobby areas of interest locally".
John Clacy, IoD Chair, said: “This is an important opportunity for business leaders to have their voice heard by our politicians. The IoD hopes to make it very easy for anyone standing for election to understand which issues are at the top of the business community’s agenda.
“We urge everyone to take part in the survey, both IoD members and other business leaders; we hope that candidates will also engage with the survey results which will be released next year.”
Everyone is encouraged to complete the survey here.
