Beau Sejour Leisure Centre will remain closed to the public until further notice. It closed initially on Sunday and Monday and the Committee for Education, Sport & Culture has now extended the closure for the foreseeable future.
This decision was made with the benefit of advice from Public Health officials and is part of the States’ response to the worldwide coronavirus pandemic.
The Committee has also closed Candie Museum to the public until further notice. Three other museums which initially had their opening days postponed are now closed until further notice. They are Castle Cornet, Fort Grey and the German Naval Signals Head Quarters.
Deputy Matt Fallaize, President of the Committee for Education, Sport & Culture, said: ‘I want to thank our staff who have been very committed keeping Beau Sejour and Candie Museum open. We knew that we would have to close our facilities and attractions as the picture around coronavirus developed and Public Health advice evolved and this is the right time to close them to the public for the foreseeable future. Our customers have been very patient and understanding, for which we thank them, and we look forward to welcoming them back to Beau Sejour and the museums as soon it is safe for them to reopen.’
