Privacy Policy

Who are we?

Bailiwick Express and Bailiwick Radio is owned by Bailiwick Publishing (LCI), which is a registered trading name of Lighthouse Media (CI) Ltd (LMCI). LMCI is registered in Jersey and its directors are James Filleul and Mark Jackson. In this document ‘we’ or ‘our’ refers to LMCI.

What information will we collect about you?

When you set up an account with LMCI (to access Bailiwick Express) or register for one of our services, we may receive personal information about you. This may be information such as your name, email address, IP address, postal address, telephone or mobile number or date of birth.

By submitting those details, you enable us to provide you with the services.

We may also ask you to register which content you would like to receive from us, so that we can provide a more personalized service for both editorial and advertising content.

How will we use the information we collect?

We will use it for a number of purposes including the following:

  1. to provide our services, and to deal with your requests and enquiries;
  2. to administer our services;
  3. to contact you;
  4. to provide you with information on our services;
  5. to personalise the way our services are provided to you, and the advertising you receive;
  6. to use IP addresses to block disruptive use, or to gather data as to how our services are being used so that we can report back to advertisers. This reporting will only done in terms of broad groups, not individually. 
  7. to analyse and improve the services we offer. 

When will you contact me?

We may contact you:

  1. in relation to the service you have signed up for;
  2. in relation to any correspondence we receive from you;
  3. in relation to any posting you have made;
  4. to invite you to participate in surveys;
  5. for marketing purposes for our own products and services.

Will you share my personal information with anyone else?

No. We will keep your information confidential except where disclosure is required or permitted by law.

How long will you keep my personal information?

We will hold your personal information on our systems for as long as is necessary to provide our services to you. Once you notify us that you no longer wish to receive those services, we will delete your information from our system. We will delete that information within three months, in case you decide to change your decision.

Cookies

Our websites use ‘Cookies’ to record information about your online preferences and allow us to tailor our services accordingly. For example, they may allow us to see whether the device (and probably its user) has visited the website before and so help us to provide you with a better user experience.

This information is not provided to any third party.

You can change your settings and block cookies, but this means that certain personalized features cannot then be provided.

Bailiwick Radio

Bailiwick Radio is defined as bailiwickradio.com, associated mobile applications, software, and Internet services under our control, whether partial or otherwise, in connection with providing a platform for Bailiwick Radio's services.

We consider “Personal Information” to include information that alone or when in combination with other information may be used to readily identify, contact, or locate you, such as: name, address, email address, or phone number. We do not consider Personal Information to include information that has been anonymized so that it does not allow a third party to easily identify a specific individual.

When you navigate away from the Bailiwick Radio Products and Services to websites or apps controlled by third parties, you leave the Bailiwick Radio Products and Services, at which point this Privacy Policy no longer applies. You will not receive a notice warning when you leave the Bailiwick Radio Products and Services. Please visit the privacy policies of these third-party websites and apps to learn their privacy policies and data collection practices.

We may collect and share aggregate demographic or statistical information that is not personally identifiable at our discretion.

If you access Bailiwick Radio Products and Services directly from a partner website, we may share your information with that partner. Other than this use, we do not share your Personal Information unless we have your permission or as otherwise stated in this Privacy Policy.

Third Party Services Working on Our Behalf

We may pass your information to our third party service providers, or other associated organisations for the purposes of completing tasks and providing services to you on our behalf (for example processing payments and providing technical support). However, when we use third party service providers, we disclose only the personal information that is necessary to deliver the service and we have a contract in place that requires them to keep your information secure and not to use it for their own direct marketing purposes. 

Please be reassured that we will not release your information to third parties beyond the Bailiwick Publishing network for them to use for their own direct marketing purposes, unless you have requested us to do so, or we are required to do so by law, for example, by a court order or for the purposes of prevention of fraud or other crime.

When you are using our secure online payment system, your payment is processed by a third party processor, who specialises in the secure online capture and processing of credit/debit card and PayPal transactions. If you have any questions regarding secure transactions, please contact us.

Bailiwick Publishing’s infrastructure is managed by multiple service providers (For example, Amazon Web Services). However, they do not have access to any personal information and are prohibited to selling or passing on any stored data.

Changes to our Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time so you may wish to check it each time you submit personal information to us.

If you have a complaint about the way in which Bailiwick Publishing has processed your Personal Data or a general request for information about this Statement or any of the data we hold on you, please contact us by email to feedback@bailiwickexpress.com.

Bailiwick Publishing tries to meet the highest standards when collecting and using personal data and we take any complaints we receive about this very seriously. We encourage you to bring it to our attention and are happy to provide any additional information or explanation needed in respect of our data processing activities.
