Scarlett Kenneally has been appointed as the new Football Development Officer and Girls' Academy Manager.
She will be tasked with delivering football PE programmes for Year 5 and 6 students in 12 primary schools.
The role also includes developing lunch clubs and after school clubs and running the Mourant Girls Academy where she will oversee the development of aspiring girls in the sport.
Ms Kenneally has been involved in the local football scene for 14-years and currently plays with the Green Lionesses as a full back.
Her time as a coach at Aztec Soccer has also given her experience working with children.
The role was created thanks to Sure’s sponsorship of the Guernsey Football Association’s (GFA) Community Programme.
Mike Fawkner-Corbett, Acting Chief Commercial Officer at Sure, said: “We’re confident that Scarlett’s leadership and passion for youth development will bring through Guernsey’s next generation of superstar footballers.
“It marks a significant step in our commitment to fostering youth development and promoting equal opportunities across the island. We look forward to seeing the skills the children learn in her lessons!”
Ms Kenneally added: “Sure’s sponsorship in the Community Programme is so important, because it gives children the opportunity to play football, and provides teachers with more support in encouraging physical literacy and a lifelong love of being healthy and active among young people”.
The programme kicks off in September and runs throughout the school year.
