Guernsey FC won for the first time since March as a mixture of youth and experience secured all three points at Horndean.
They were without some key players in defence, but boosted by the returning Charlton Gauvain who had a hand in all of their three goals.
The Green Lions went ahead inside three minutes, Gauvain’s cross headed home by Sam Murray.
The home side levelled on 29 minutes, a long ball finding Rudi Blankson who fired it home into the bottom corner.
Ross Allen had the captain’s armband and as the game entered injury time in the first half he scored his first goal of the season from a slick corner routine and Guernsey went in with the lead.
GFC had the Five Heads Park pitch’s slope with them for the second half, but it was their opponents who came back into the game.
Daniel Sibley beat his man and picked out Billy Allcock inside the box, who then unleashed a powerful strike into the top corner.
But the Green Lions did not fold, and when Gauvain delivered a dangerous ball into the box, it was Matt Loaring who rose best to head it home.
