* Alderney is the third largest of the Channel Islands with a population of 2,000. It is just 70 miles off the south coast of the UK and eight miles from the Normandy coast of France. St. Anne, the island's town dates back to the end of William IV's reign and enjoys a French influence with its cobbled streets. Alderney also boasts a fine harbour within its 3,000 ft Victorian breakwater, and an airport with three runways (two grass).
