Teenager jailed for drugs importation

Saturday 20 January 2018

Jordan Mauger has been sentenced to 5 years and 6 months youth detention after importing a number of drugs into Guernsey.

Mauger was arrested at Guernsey Airport on 16 October 2017 when he was found to have a number of banned substances concealed internally.

The drugs were in seven separate packages which included nearly 10g of MDMA, eight grams of the prescription drug Alprazolan and just under a gram of cocaine. Mauger was also carrying more than 80g of cannabis.

Before he was sentenced his lawyer said 19 year old Mauger was determined to change his life for the better and he didn't want to waste his life because of this offence.

Judge Russell Finch jailed him for a total of 5 years and 6 months saying the offences had to be treated seriously and a jail sentence was required.
