A father in Guernsey who bought a giant dinosaur for his four-year-old son is now looking to bring the beast back to life with the help of an electrician.

After a journey which captured the imagination of many people last month, the story of Chaz the Carnotaur has continued to travel around the world, as the dinosaur has continued to settle into life at Andre Bisson's home.

Having started a strong friendship with Mr Bisson's son, Theo, the youngster has started to ask why the dinosaur hasn't yet woken up.

“After everything it took to get Chaz here I thought my work was done - he just about fits in the garden and we’re all fond of the fearsome looking fella," Mr Bisson said.

“But then Theo said he’d seen footage of the dino moving and roaring on his former owner’s website and I must admit I panicked a bit when he asked why Chaz was asleep and not moving - so I told him dinosaurs like Chaz hibernate until the summer. 

“Now I’m on a deadline and need help to find an expert who can help him find his voice and wake up - he can’t stay in hibernation forever, and we have seven mega boxes of fish fingers in the freezer ready to feed him when he wakes!”

Mr Bisson is appealing for anyone who knows a company that can help to supply the converter box and equipment to get in touch. 

“I don’t even know where to start to be honest - it’s a specialist area and I live on a very small island. It’ll be summer before we know it and I can’t let my little boy down, that just can’t and will not happen!”
