Having worked for radio stations across the world, the latest gig for Channel Island broadcaster Marc Curtis saw him pack his football shirts and head to Qatar.
He spent most of his time watching the tournament from the studio as he offered commentary on the match along with his co-host.

Having previously worked for both BBC and commercial radio across the Channel Islands, as well as other stations in the UK, Europe and Asia, Mr Curtis told Express that the experience of working at a global event such as a World Cup was enjoyable.
He was presenting shows on QBS radio and offering commentary on the matches for listeners. While supporting England he had tipped Brazil to win.
That didn't happen but he told Express he has had a great time soaking up the atmosphere in Qatar.
"When I arrived in Qatar in October the heat was unbearable," he said, "you couldn’t walk for more than five minutes without having to find shade and drink water, I really didn’t think it was a suitable place to hold the World Cup at that time.

"I was assured the temperature would drop come November! When November arrived it was still about 30 degrees but the locals were wrapping up warm.
"By mid November it had dropped to the mid 20’s like the summer in the UK/ Channel Islands, all of the stadiums had air conditioning. The state of the art air con at stadiums was helping to keep fans and players cool."
Mr Curtis said he didn't hear of any trouble, having perviously told Express that the tournament was well organised with fan zones, areas to buy an alcoholic drink and lots of security measures.
Next stop for Mr Curtis is Egypt after spending Christmas in the UK with family and friends.
