Police are appealing for witnesses after a suspected assault in Town.

It happened between 23:00 and 00:00 on Saturday 20 July and involved a man and a woman.

The woman was injured during the incident, which took place on the pavement somewhere between Mora and The Candy Shop.

The man involved has been described as a white male in his mid-thirties. He was wearing a dark blue long-sleeved shirt and dark jeans, with brown hair and a 'local accent'.

He is believed to have been with a group of male friends at the time.

The woman was wearing a long yellow skirt and dark cardigan.
