On arrival the volunteer crew were informed that a kerosene boiler was on fire and the flames had already spread to the oil tank which had caused it to "rupture and spill its contents."

Due to the kerosene spillage the blaze was described as "difficult to control" and firefighting foam was also used, following initial efforts to put the flames out using a 45mm hose line and water curtain, which had been set up to protect the main residential property due to the proximity of the fire.

Two volunteer firefighters, wearing breathing apparatus used a 45mm hose line to further control the flames.

Once the blaze was extinguished, crews remained on scene until 21:20 to damp down the area and ensure it was safe.

There were no reported injuries.
