A group of students have organised a charity walk to fundraise for Les Bourgs Hospice, after being inspired by the work they do for the Guernsey community.
Students Zoe Collins, Charlotte Green and Chloe Brown have created a ‘Walk 5 Donate 5’ event on Sunday 19 July, beginning at 15:30 at Grande Rocques.
Participants will walk five miles – from Grandes Rocques to Rousse and back – and are encouraged to donate £5 for Les Bourgs, as well as seeking out any additional sponsorship.
Miss Collins said she was inspired to organise the walk after seeing the impact Les Bourgs can have on individuals, families, and the Guernsey community.
“The Hospice is a very important charity and organisation to our island,” the main organiser said.
“I wanted to do something in return to recognise their outstanding efforts and to help them to continue to support patients and families."

Miss Green added: "The concept of the walk is to walk 5 miles and donate £5, however this is not limited, walkers can donate however much they want to contribute and are encouraged to get any sponsorship that they can."
"We feel that through this walk we can raise a significant amount of money for an amazing charity which will benefit them highly, whilst also arranging a fun event for anyone to enjoy."
People who wish to participate in the walk do not need to register, they just need to arrive at the meeting point on Sunday with their donations.
