Schoolboy knocked off bicycle in hit and run

Thursday 23 September 2021

Guernsey Police are investigating an incident where a boy who was cycling home from school was abused by a man in a van and then forced off his bicycle.

At roughly 16:00 yesterday a young boy was cycling back from school along Rue des Brehauts in St Pierre du Bois. He was wearing a red helmet and cycling a blue bicycle.

A man driving a blue van then verbally abused him before forcing his way past and pulling into a nearby shop.

After waiting, the man then drove back onto the road to follow the boy again. He followed closely, before overtaking close enough to make contact and knock the boy into a wall.

The driver of the van then left the scene.

Guernsey Police would like anyone with any information to please call PC Hewlett or PC Flatres on 222 222.

Alternatively, you can call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
