Two canine incidents under investigation

Tuesday 23 April 2019

Guernsey Police are investigating two separate incidents involving dogs which took place last week, and are asking for people who may have witnessed what happened to come forward.

The first incident took place on the 16 April around 13:30 at L'ancresse, while the second occurred at 16:10 on the 17 April at the model car track beside Beau Sejour.

At L'Ancresse, Police believe a border collie approached a fisherman's equipment and started to sniff around, causing the man to lash out and kick the dog. While the dog was not injured, the authorities are still keen to speak to the fisherman involved, or anyone who may have seen how things unfolded.

Similarly, they want to hear from anyone who may have been around the model car track on the afternoon of 17 Wednesday, where it is believed three small dogs approached and attacked a man who was busy setting up equipment. A Police report said the man was bitten by two of the three dogs. The dogs are believed to be Shih Tzu, or alternatively a similar kind of breed.

PC 177 Le Galloudec is investigating both cases, and asks for anyone who can help to contact him on 725111, or report what they know anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
