Experienced surfers and new enthusiasts have been taking to the seas in numbers as outdoor recreation groups report an increase in people looking to Guernsey's beaches for exercise during the lockdown.
During the corona virus lockdown, many islanders are reported to have taken full advantage of their exercise allowance by taking part in water sports.
That interest could increase further now that the island has entered Phase 5 of the lockdown strategy, according to Brian Aplin, Co-Chair of the Outdoor Charter.
He said much of the activity has centred on Vazon, where the Surf School has re-opened and kayaks and other equipment can be rented from vendors.
"It is wonderful to see such an interest in outdoor activities throughout the island," he said. "Guernsey is a small place with a large, active population so popular spots are likely to get busy over summer."
Through covid restrictions, Mr Aplin said many people enjoyed the good weather during their exercise allowance.

However the charter is reminding all beach users to look up safe practises for their sport of choice.
"It is important we respect other users and take responsibility to learn our sport's best code of practice," he said.
To help educate those who might be new to surf sports or veterans that need a refresher, Guernsey Surf Club will be displaying Surf Zone Etiquette at the slipway entrance to the beach.
Tim Gaudion from the Guernsey Surf Club said: "I think there has been an increase in all beach activities since the covid lockdown and during the different phases of the exit strategy.
"With surfing being one of the allowed exercises during the two hour and then four hour daily exercise, and some great sunny days with good waves during [the lockdown], this has encouraged a lot of people to enjoy the waves."
Mr Gaudion said anyone surfing should have a good understanding of surf safety and etiquette, more information on which can be found HERE.
"The surf school also offers a great way to try out the sport for anyone looking to start surfing or for beginners looking to improve and have all the equipment available for hire and a range of lessons for all ages.
"Anyone surfing in Guernsey should also have insurance and this is provided as part of the Guernsey Surf Club membership. "
