A party was held to celebrate the nearly two decades of work Steve Williams has put into the Guernsey Housing Association as its Chief Executive.
Mr Williams has now officially retired and a celebratory party was held at Les Cotils to mark the occasion.
He said it has been a privilege to “play a part in improving people’s lives”.
“In the last 21 years, the GHA has provided more than 2,000 people with modern, warm and secure homes.”
Mr Williams was involved in the development of Le Vieux Jardin. The project was finished in 2019 and offers accommodation to people with autism.
He has been replaced at the GHA as Chief Executive by Victoria Slade. She said Mr William’s contribution to the island’s housing industry has been “extraordinary”.
“He will be greatly missed at the GHA, and we wish him the best of luck in the next chapter of his life,” she said.
“We acknowledge the significant housing challenges facing the island, and the GHA will continue to provide high-quality, affordable homes for the community.”
